The type of foot or ankle surgery performed determines the length and kind of aftercare required to assure that your recovery from surgery is rapid and uneventful. Your surgeon will also determine if and when you can bear weight on your foot after the operation. A satisfactory recovery can be hastened by carefully following instructions from your surgeon. After foot surgery many patients are sent to a Rehabilitation Facility or home with a Medicare Certified Home Health Agency for both physical and occupational therapy. If you chose to go home but have still not fully recovered, DiMi Nursing can provide caregivers who will assist you during that transition phase. Should you chose to go to a Rehabilitation Facility, DiMi caregivers can also provide additional one to one assistance at the facility.
